Story Overview

As the frontiers of modern surgery continue to be pushed back, will John, recently widowed father of baby Annie, be able to find the money to pay for the life saving operation his daughter needs? The experimental operation is only available in San Francisco and everyone seems to be against him. Except medical student Lucy, whose love for John drove her to find the solution to Annie's condition but whose offer of help turned sour.
