Born
in Bletchley, England, as the youngest of 4, Nicky spent her first year
in the UK, before she moved to Gothenburg in Sweden where she spent the
next 6 years. When Nicky was 7 the family moved back to Melbourne. By
the time she graduated from high school she had appeared in over 18 school
plays. She also excelled at the oboe and had toured Australia in a symphony
orchestra. Also a fine singer she had been cast in the Victorian State
Opera's production of the Snow Queen which was her first professional
stage role.
After
leaving school at 17, Nicky spent the next 3 years doing an Arts degree
at Monash University in Melbourne. She studied Visual Art (film and television)
and Classical Literature. A week after her last exam, at the age of 20,
she flew with a one way ticket to London. After working at various jobs
in London Nicky decided that drama school was the place she wanted to
go next. She applied to 9 schools. After all the harrowing auditions of
the various schools she eventually got accepted to 4. She chose to attend
The Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art.
Over
the next 3 years Nicky worked hard and loved every minute. She never missed
one class and graduated with the highest honours. Following her graduation
Nicky learnt what it was like to be a professional actress in London.
She did some fringe plays and "did" the Edinburgh Festival. She also got
the odd commercial.
Then
she was cast as Julie Bolton in Baby Blues, her first feature film. Nicky
loved learning and improving her skills in front of camera. It wasn't
long before she was cast as Kelly Hurst on Family Affairs. Nicky then
spent the next 2 years in the Channel 5 soap. Most recently Nicky has
starred in A Mind of Her Own. Nicky also does much voice work and has
put her voice to many varied products, ad campaigns and promotional material,
